NTK DS-ACH toolholders offer patented centreline adjustment for external turning, eliminating face centre pips

For the turning of external diameters, NTK has introduced its DS-ACH line of toolholders featuring a patented centreline height adjustment system that eliminates the centre pip on end-faces to provide a constant length dimension. The centreline adjustment system only requires an Allen key to alter the insert height between 0 and 0.2 mm.

At present, the left-hand cutting DS-ACH line is available with three toolholder variants. The first, designated DS-SDU-ACH, comes in 16, 19, 20, 22 mm or 1” diameters and offers an overall length of 75 to 150 mm. Corresponding with this toolholder is DC insert geometry featuring a relief angle of 3° and two cutting edges.

Alongside the SDU toolholder is the DS-PTX-ACH. Also available in the same diameters, the PTX accommodates triangular insert geometries providing a 10° relief angle. For more intricate profiling operations, the DS-SVVP-ACH toolholder utilises a two-edged insert with a 72° relief angle.
