Moving-column, 800 mm pallet changing VMC

The Dugard Eagle MH-800 is an ISO 50 taper, twin 800 mm pallet, moving-column machining centre with 40-tool magazine, Fanuc control and optical scale positioning to accommodate higher accuracy, heavier duty machining cycles.
X, Y and Z-axis travels are 1,000, 800, and 750 mm, respectively - rapid traverse rates are 20 m/min in each. Positioning accuracy is ± 0.004 mm and repeatability is ± 0.003 mm.
The machine uses a long nose design of ISO 50 spindle with 4,500 rpm available as standard from the 18.5 kW drive with three-step high torque gearing. Also included is 20 bar through-spindle coolant supply.
Each of the twin 800 mm by 800 mm pallets can carry up to 1.2 tonnes and provide indexing to 0.001°. Pallet exchange time is within 1.8 seconds and a pallet wash is also standard.
The 60-tool chain magazine can be upgraded to 80 tools, taking tooling units up to 8 kg in weight. Control is via Fanuc Oi-MC with Fanuc’s 18i-MB system also available as an option.
Rigid tapping, tool length and workpiece measurement can also be supplied, while swarf handling which includes a conveyor system, is standard.
