Modular mill-turn centre offers tailoring options

The Gildemeister CTX Beta 1250 TC represents the mid-range of the high powered fifth-generation of Gildemeister CTX Alpha, Beta and Gamma Universal lathes. Its modular build concept allows customers to specify various options to meet their precise machine tool requirements, such as specifying a 20 kW counter spindle in place of a tailstock to provide one-hit, five-sided simultaneous machining in a single automated cycle. The TC version of the CTX Beta Universal mill-turn centre has 22 kW of power and 100 Nm of torque available to its B-axis milling head. The machine has added flexibility from a 24 position, HSK 63-A tool disc magazine. Alternatively, sister tooling supply will enable continuous machining of components held in the 28 kW main spindle. The maximum turning diameter is 390 mm by 1,250 mm machining length. A tailstock is included and in standard specification, machine headstock options for bar diameters of 65, 76 or 102 mm are available. Optional chuck sizes are up to 315 mm on the 4,000 rpm main spindle and up to 210 mm on the counter spindle, which has a 6,000 rpm maximum speed. An important feature of the latest CTX range machines is the ERGOline control package with 19 in screen and 3D software for fast and easy programming. The system features SOFTkeys giving customisable shortcut hotkeys for frequently used screen selections and operational sequences. A choice of controls is available.
