MicroLoc workholding specialist Micron Workholding has expanded its range by adding workholding solutions for milling, turning and grinding machines.
The new products are:
VB Dock Lock - The VB Dock Lock system integrates with workholding devices and provides fast, accurate and repeatable set-up on machining centres. Time-consuming vice alignment and bolt-down tasks are eliminated. The system consists of a patented hydraulic actuated locking cylinder device that positions and locks the vice onto the machine worktable.
It allows the user to locate or remove the workholding from a machine, or move it offline or to another machine and/or back again in just seconds with zero-point positioning accuracy every time.
PAL Air Chucks - Precision Air-clamping Systems solve technical gripping or clamping problems met in turn-key orders and can be fitted to turning centres, machining centres, grinders and CNC lathes.
There's a choice of 2,3 or 4 jaws as standard, plus 5 and 6-jaw set-ups up on special request. Also, all workholding products can be used in conjunction with static machining operations, such as milling or grinding.
VB 5-axis vice - A specialised work clamping system eliminates special fixtures and allows single set-up 5-axis milling, drilling and face-milling.
The system supports the achievement of tighter tolerances, while surface finishes are better. The VB 5-axis vice is manufactured in Switzerland by Vischer & Bolli.
Astheo 5-axis vice - The Astheo vice range gives engineers a whole new method of programming, when machining components on machining centres.
The Astheo Vices allows the machining of all five faces of a component, saving downtime on both programming and setting.
The vices are available in a modular format. Customers can build the system up to suit most applications. These Astheo systems can also be used on 3-axis machines fitted with one or two additional axes.
