Mazak entry-level QTC turning centre range

Yamazaki Mazak has extended its range of entry-level machines with the addition of the two-model QTC (Quick Turn Compact) range. The machines are aimed at the general subcontracting market, specifically those involved in small- to medium-size manufacturing operations.

The QTC is equipped with a Mazak-manufactured driven tool turret, a 500 or 1,000 mm bed and a bar diameter capacity of 65 or 80 mm. Each variant is available with an optional Y-axis and/or an optional second spindle.

There are two variants of the QTC; the QTC 200, which is equipped with an 8-in chuck and offers a maximum speed of 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 167 Nm; and the QTC 300, which has a 10-in chuck, a maximum speed of 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 356 Nm. Both are controlled by the company’s SmoothC CNC.

A productivity package is also available that includes bar feed interface, parts catcher and power coolant options.
