Entry-level QTP turning centre unveiled by Mazak range

The three-model QTP (Quick Turn Primos) range has been introduced by Yamazaki Mazak to extend its range of entry-level machines. Aimed at the general subcontracting market, specifically those involved in small- to medium-size manufacturing operations, QTP 2-axis turning centres are available in three variants.

The Primos 50S has a bar diameter capacity of 32 mm and is equipped with a 5,000 rpm, 7.5 kW spindle capable of 48 Nm of torque. The next model up in the range is the Primos 100S, which has the same spindle speed but possesses a 9 kW spindle and an increased maximum bar diameter capacity of 36 mm, as well as 75 Nm of torque. Finally, the Primos 150S has a maximum diameter bar capacity of 51 mm and uses a lower speed 4,000 rpm, 11 kW spindle capable of 131 Nm of torque. All variants are equipped with the Mazatrol conversational control.
