Ultra QCT features a tool-less punch retention mechanism that can be operated by simply flipping the latch to remove and snap the new insert into place.
The punch is keyed at the perimeter of the tool – not the centre – providing better angularity control, while the shoulder of the punch remains guided when in use.
The punch insert is made from MPM4 tool steel, which independent studies have shown to last as much as 56% longer than conventional high speed tool steels. Furthermore, the punch driver is coated with Mate’s SuperMax coating to help minimise wear.
The Ultra QCT can be integrated into existing Mate UltraTec, Ultra XT and Ultra Fully Guided guides and standard canisters.
