Mate introduces RapidSet adjustable thick turret canisters for punch presses
Mate's has introduced RapidSet adjustable thick turret canisters capable of punching material up to 6.35 mm thick for use with its Mate Original Style and AMX punch press tooling. Designed to provide quick tool changes and make punch length adjustment faster with existing tooling inventories, the A and B station canisters are also compatible with Amada Standard, Amada ABS and Wilson Standard tooling styles.
RapidSet canisters work with keyed or non-keyed punches and feature non-rotating clamping heads with an easily adjustable clamping screw for setting punch length. Mate says the pre-loaded, self-contained spring pack provides consistent stripping pressure, consistent die penetration and reduced slug-pulling while grind life is greater than its Original Style – 8 mm in 1 mm material with 3 mm die penetration.
Punch length can be adjusted without removing it from the guide and the device can be used with existing guides, with or without pins.
