Mastercam for SolidWorks

SolidWorks users now have access to Mastercam X5, which can now be now a fully integrated CAM application that runs seamlessly in SolidWorks.

SolidWorks users can now program their parts directly within SolidWorks using Mastercam's toolpaths and machining strategies. Mastercam for SolidWorks provides a full suite of cutting strategies, including Feature-Based Machining (FBM) and 3D High Speed Machining (HSM) toolpaths. Mastercam for SolidWorks also delivers a powerful set of automated cleanup toolpaths, allowing users to get parts off machines faster and with little or no handwork. In addition to conventional 2D and 3D programming, Mastercam for SolidWorks offers a range of high power machining functions: [] New OptiRough Toolpath is designed to remove large amounts of material quickly using its successful dynamic milling motion. Large, aggressive cuts are followed by fast, smaller up-cuts, safely delivering a fully roughed part faster than ever. [] Hybrid finishing intelligently blends two efficient cutting techniques in a single toolpath. It evaluates the model shape and smoothly switches between constant Z cutting and scallop machining, resulting in dramatically finer finish with less work.
