Master Chemical Europe describes its vegetable ester-based cutting oil as "kind to operators and the environment, but formulated for use in the toughest machining operations". The heavy duty cutting oil is suitable for deep hole, gun and ejector drilling, as well as for small parts turning and is one product in the manufacturer's comprehensive line of renewable oils.
Trim Tec OE315 NS, which was developed in Europe for the European market, contains an extreme-pressure additive package formulated for efficient metal removal without foaming or misting, which are vital for arduous drilling. Minimal misting also means substantially reduced oil consumption. In trials, says Master Chemical, this proved to be as much as 25%, compared to standard mineral oil-based products that can be lost to the machine shop atmosphere.
Trim Tec OE315 NS is suitable for cutting hardened and stainless steel and is also compatible with yellow metals. In common with other products in the range, it uses high quality saturated esters together with renewable esters. These are products that present no danger of early oxidation, increased viscosity or sticky residues. Trim Tec OE315 NS does not have a strong odour or include active sulphur or environmentally restricted chlorine. The inherent lubricity of the esters used, however, favour extended tool life and the product has a very high flash point.
