Leitz Reference CMM range expanded

The Leitz Reference co-ordinate measuring machine range has been expanded with the addition of two completely new series: the Leitz Reference Xi and Leitz Reference XT.

The existing Leitz Reference co-ordinate measuring machines will continue under the name Leitz Reference HP. With accuracies from MPEE = 0.8 + L/400 microns, the Leitz Reference HP (High Precision) models provide the smallest measurement uncertainty within the Leitz Reference family. The LSP-S2 scanning measurement head is compatible with the larger models in this series. The LSP-X3c measurement head is available for the smaller models, with Z measurement ranges of 300 mm. The Leitz Reference Xi is flexible, in terms of the available probe systems. It can be used with either the LSP-X1s or the LSP-X1m fixed measurement head on the TESASTAR-m wrist. In comparison, the LSP-X5 accepts the longest and heaviest styli clusters. Thus, the Leitz Reference user has a choice of indexing and fixed-probe systems. Indexing systems can effortlessly capture every angle of an inspected part, while fixed measuring systems owe their impressive accuracies to their rigid construction. By comparison, the Leitz Reference XT series offers a free choice of measurement heads. The Leitz Reference Xi series provides precise measurement results within a temperature range of 18 to 21 °C. With the Leitz Reference XT (eXTended) series, Hexagon Metrology has extended the temperature range to 15 to 30 °C by incorporating a sophisticated temperature compensation system. The Leitz Reference Xi and the Leitz Reference XT series are both prepared for multisensor control and will also be able to be fitted with visual sensors in the future.
