Leader unveils Gruppo Parpas Shark 5000 machining centre

Leader CNC says the Gruppo Parpas Shark 5000 machining centre is the result of extensive finite element analysis to optimise the frequency and rigidity calculations of the machine base. With a cage-shaped column and central sliding saddle, the Shark features a thermo-symmetric structure, while built upon this base are linear guideways and roller bearings. The machine is pitched at the aerospace, power generation and mould and die sectors.

The Shark 5000 is available with 3, 4 or 5 m in the X-axis with a Y- and Z-axis travel of 1,200 and 1,600 mm respectively. It can machine components at a rate of 15 m/min, with a rapid traverse of 35 m/min and acceleration/deceleration of 1.5 m/min. The machine has a variety of rotating spindle heads available to offer the customer 4th-axis machining capability. Spindle speed options are 7,000, 10,000, 20,000 or 22,000 rpm.
