Leader releases Toshiba BTH-130.R24 horizontal borer

Leader CNC says that the Toshiba BTH-130.R24 has been developed to provide manufacturers with large scale horizontal boring capability, as well as the productivity and flexibility of a machining centre.

Within its 7 by 7 m footprint, the 45,000 kg Toshiba BTH-130.R24 provides a working envelope of 3 by 2.3 by 1.5 m in the X, Y and Z axes, with the W-axis quill extension of 700 mm offering extra reach. Furthermore, the BTH-130.R24 features an automatic toolchanger having options of 38, 60, 90 or 120 stations. The maximum tool length is 400 mm.

Driven by a servomotor, the machine's B-axis table introduces a clamping system that works in harmony with a rigid double-pinion-type drive and rotary scale system. Offering a workpiece capacity of 20,000 kg, the B-axis drive system can index from 0 to 90° in 15 seconds at an indexing repeatability of ±1.5°.
