Leader CNC introduces FAT-Haco TUR930 MN flat-bed turning centre

UK distributor Leader CNC is introducing the European-built FAT-Haco TUR930 MN flat-bed turning centre which has a distance between centres of 2 to 6 m with a 950 mm diameter swing over the bed.

With its wide tri-V slideway bed construction, the Haco TUR930 MN is aimed at precision turning of large parts that demand a rigid and robust machine tool. The 5,000 kg capacity machine uses high precision ballscrews in the X and Z-axes. These are mounted on high precision bearings to deliver sensitive and accurate positional accuracy and movement. The drive for the Z-axis is transmitted to the ballscrew via a cogged belt that is driven from a Siemens AC Servomotor. A wide, stress relieved and treated machine bed, cast in FAT Haco's own foundry, is equipped with hardened guideways for accurate machining over a long service life. The compact design headstock, built according to the same durability principle, houses a heavy duty spindle supported by a combination of double-row cylindrical roller and double direction angular contact thrust ball bearings. This system is said to be capable of exceptional precision and surface finishes while supporting extremely heavy loads. As standard, the TUR930 is supplied with a 140 mm spindle bore with a 220 – 450 mm bore configuration offered as an alternative. A 33 kW spindle motor provides a maximum 4,900 Nm of torque and a spindle speed of 1,200 rpm. The latest Siemens 840D SL control system and matching Siemens AC drives, equip the TUR930 MN to produce simple or complex components in one-offs or small batches.
