Kurt Sidewinder provides vice-on-vice solution for same set-up second operations

Kurt Manufacturing's SideWinder, a vice that mounts at the back of all Kurt 6-inch and industry standard 6-inch vices, provides same set-up vertical workholding for second operation machining.

Featuring the original Kurt Anglock design for decreasing jaw deflection, the SideWinder distributes clamping force evenly and precisely across the full jaw surface. The Anglock design in the movable jaw reduces jaw lift and a round nut controls deflection. An integral stabilising bracket allows mounting to the machine table on the movable end of the vice, while a workstop controls the height of the part. The elevated position of the SideWinder vice extends machining reach but does not interfere with the operating envelope of the host vice. The SideWinder offers 2.5-inch maximum jaw opening and width, a maximum jaw height of 1.063 inch, a 0–4.313 inch workstop adjustment range, and 0.375 inch and 0.453 inch hex size and length respectively. The robust ductile cast iron bodied SideWinder vice is designed for use on the latest machine tools including machining centres and knee-type mills for all types of machining operations, including precision boring, tapping, drilling and finishing with accuracy on most part configurations.
