In a test on high alloy tool steel, MasterSteel outperformed the competition to the extent of 83% longer life. In addition, during tests on welded fabrications of ST52 with a high number of flame-cut edges, MasterSteel displayed 150% longer tool life while achieving 66% higher feed rates.
Designed for roughing operations on steel components, the cutter's generous flutes allow it to evacuate a large volume of chips, even at high feed rates.
Other geometric features, such as dynamic helical pitch and unequal spacing of the cutting edges, combine to ensure smooth running. Furthermore, honing of the cutting edges and a high quality ground finish contribute to low wear, as does a newly developed coating.
