The HFDhighlight drill was developed for high feed rates and high metal removal combined with uncompromised process security. A further advantage is the exceptional versatility of drill when it comes to machining cast iron, tool steel, stainless steel or aluminum, under through or flood coolant conditions. The high process security is created by means of the optimised insert design, a strengthened cutter body, as well as positive chip forming geometry which contribute to stability and long tool life. The insert geometry ensures optimum performance, even where long-chipping materials are being machined. Furthermore, HFDhighlight benefits from a drill body that is coated for protection against abrasion. HFDhighlight indexable insert drills are at home on drilling machines or machining centres, and are available with a length diameter ratio of 3xD; with diameter from 14 to 28 mm - in 0.5 mm increments.
