High coolant flow rate with WNT DirectCooling DC-SX

The WNT DirectCooling DC-SX grooving system features two cooling channels, one above and one below the grooving insert, a feature that is said to provide optimal cooling at the cutting edge, enabling higher cutting speeds.

Additionally, as the coolant jet hits directly where the chips are formed, good chip evacuation can also be achieved, even in deep grooves.

WNT says that its DC-SX grooving system has clear advantages, when compared with competitor systems featuring internal cooling as its design creates a continuous high flow rate, even at low operating pressures.

Flow rates of 3.84 l/min can be achieved at a pressure of 10 bar, compared with 2.76 l/min from competitor systems, says the company. According to WNT, this higher flow rate ensures constant working temperature and extended tool life.

WNT has also enhanced the sealing screw, which now features a Torx head, making it easier to change.
