Hexagon Metrology launches DEA Global Silver

Hexagon Metrology has improved its DEA Global line of co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs): With the new DEA Global Silver users can measure more quickly, more accurately and more conveniently. The scanning throughput of the new line is up to 35% higher than previous generation models.

Various improvements stand behind the new DEA Global Silver. Enhanced productivity has been achieved by optimised motion algorithms, improved software and a new electronic controller. The result is smoother and faster scanning measurements. A new electronic controller with state-of-the-art hardware and firmware technologies allows for faster computation and data transmission as well as more efficient multi-tasking processing. The new function PC-DMIS Adaptive Scanning facilitates the measurement process. The user enters the tolerances of part features into a PC-DMIS form. PC-DMIS Adaptive Scanning calculates the optimum scanning parameters by itself – also for complex measuring processes. There is no need for the user to define the parameters. Besides the DEA Global Silver Classic, Performance and Advantage models, which offer various accuracy level and sensor options, Hexagon Metrology also introduces the DEA Global Silver SF (Shop Floor). This CMM is suitable for high accuracy dimensional inspection in harsh environments where dust, vibration and temperature changes may affect CMM performance. Bellows and covers protect this CMM from environmental influences. By means of CTE-certified optical scales, an integrated network of thermal sensors and advanced structural thermal compensation algorithms accurate measuring results are ensured in a temperature range of 15 to 30 °C.
