Hainbuch introduces Maxxos mandrel system

Hainbuch’s newly developed Maxxos mandrel system features the company’s hexagonal clamping geometry for improved clamping forces.

Existing customers may already be familiar with the technology that currently exists on Hainbuch’s TOPlus range of chucks. However, by transferring hexagonal clamping geometry to its mandrel line, Maxxos is said to offer clamping force increases beyond 30%, in comparison with existing systems.

The mandrel system is available for demanding workholding applications such as hard turning, when high clamping forces and rigidity are required, and also grinding operations, where resistance to contamination is needed. Bore sizes are available from 10 to over 150 mm.

A further benefit of Maxxos is that full surface contact and lubrication significantly reduce friction and enable sensitive clamping for fragile workpieces, says the company.
