Fortron introduce Huron MU TECH milling machine
MU TECH by Huron is an entry-level 3-axis milling machine that has the distinctive feature of being equipped as standard with an electro-spindle. Available in the UK from Fortron, MU TECH can also operate in 3+2 axis mode. It offers high power at low speed for rough cutting of large parts, says the company. MU TECH 6, the first version available, features a 600 mm diameter table.
The high speed electro-spindle provides 23 kW of power, 75 Nm of torque and a maximum speed of 12,000 rpm. It can be used in continuous service (class S1) starting at 3,000 rpm and in continuous service with intermittent load (S6) for 40% of the time at 2,200 rpm. The electro-spindle is equipped with a rotary head B-axis capable of +30°/-120° to allow components to be machined vertically and horizontally.
