CNC International has introduced the German-built Exeron HSC MP7 machining centre to the UK market. The machine incorporates a gantry-style structure, integrated temperature control and linear motors throughout.
Pitched at the micro-manufacturing industry, the MP7 has X, Y and Z-axis travels of 730 by 340 by 400 mm for the 3-axis machine, while the 5-axis variant has an identical work envelope, except for a Y-axis of 250 mm. This is to accommodate the B- and C-axis traverse. The 3-axis variant has a distance from the table to the spindle nose of 550 mm, while the 5-axis machine provides 450 mm.
The MP7 provides positioning accuracy of 5 micron for the linear axis and ±5 micron for the B and C axes. With a 42,000 rpm spindle driven by a 10/13 kW motor, the MP7 also offers a HSK40 configuration to accept relatively large cutting tools.
