Drills for micro-machining and hard materials working

High precision drills made by Union Tool Europe SA of Switzerland and offered through Rainford Precision have successfully proven their ability to machine materials up to a hardness level of 53HRC. They are ideal for micro-machining, toolmaking and medical applications. The range covers diameters from 0.1 mm to 3 mm in 0.01 mm increments between 0.1 to 2 mm and 0.05 mm elsewhere. With a flute length up to 17x diameter, the drills are ideal for intricate workpieces. All drills are produced from super micro-grain carbide that is TiCN coated up to 2 mm diameter with drills above this being TiAlN coated. These tough substrates guarantee a long tool life for this series of drills, particularly when drilling hard materials. The drills have a 3 mm reinforced shank that when combined with the coated carbide demonstrate a high level of rigidity and stability, which is a pre-requisite for small diameter drills.
