The large capacity Doosan DNM vertical machining centres launched distributed by Mills CNC are the latest and largest of Doosan's DNM vertical machining centres. The machines' ability to high speed machine materials like aluminium and steel in the manufacture of large precision components will be of particular interest to the aerospace sector," believes Mills.
The DNM 750 range comprises the DNM 750 and the DNM 750L and complement the DNM 400, DNM 500 and DNM 650 ranges that have been introduced over the last two years. The DNM 750 and DNM 750L are equipped with Doosan Fanuc controls. Apart from the longer X-axis capability available on the L version (2,160 mm as opposed to 1,660 mm) and its larger table (2,160 by 760 mm), the machines share many technical and productivity-enhancing characteristics. These include the machines' 18.5kW 12,000 rpm spindles (BT 40 Big Plus), their 30/40-position ATCs and their linear roller guideways (as opposed to ball-type). These roller guideways provide maximum rigidity, better damping and, because roller guideways are less prone to deformation, assist accuracy.
The Doosan DNM 750 and DNM 750L also feature ballscrew nut cooling and specially-positioned heat shields to protect the spindle, tools and workpiece from the effects of heat transfer.
The performance of the DNM machines can be further improved by a range of options that include: automatic tool and workpiece measurement; chip conveyors; through-spindle coolant and a high speed contouring program that delivers fast processing speeds and 200 Block Look-Ahead capability.
