Direct SolidWorks transfer in Creaform VXmodel from Measurement Solution

Creaform latest upgrade to its scan-to-CAD software module. Part of VXelements, Creaform’s 3D software platform and application suite VXmodel features collaborative functionality for direct transfer to Dassault Systèmes’ SolidWorks, as well as streamlined workflows for reverse engineering and additive manufacturing in scan-to-CAD-to-print. The software is available in the UK from Measurement Solutions.

Some of the improvements include:

  • Direct transfer to SolidWorks: thanks to the ‘direct transfer to SolidWorks’ function, all of the essential information needed for the reverse engineering process, such as NURBS surfaces, cross-sections and geometrical entities, are transferred automatically into the CAD software in a single click.
  • Texture menu: the Go!Scan 3D colour acquisition is now supported. Users can reapply the texture from a scan acquisition to the clean mesh for original quality rendering.
  • Best fit alignment methods: use VXmodel’s alignment tools to align STL files together.
