Deep hole drilling up to 8XD at highest quality from ITC

For drilling deep holes up to 8XD, ITC has developed its 1082 Cyber Series of high performance solid carbide drills with four lands for improved surface finishes on deep hole machining.

Produced from ultra-wear-resistant micro grain carbide with an ALTiN coating, the 1082 Series has has been designed to produce extremely accurate holes at considerable depths and can cut through materials such as aluminium, titanium, nickel based materials, non ferrous alloys, steels and stainless steel. The new drilling range is available from 3 to 5 mm diameter in 0.2 mm increments, with the option of drills from 5 to16 mm in a wide variety of increments. With shank diameters from 6 to 16 mm, flute lengths from 32 to 142 mm, and an overall length from 70 to 192 mm, the 1082 Series delivers rigidity and performance. Many drills with an extra long length like the 1082 Series compromise performance, productivity, tool life and surface finishes inside the hole to obtain the desired drilling depth. However, with the through coolant facility, the 1082 delivers exceptional performance while rapidly removing swarf from the cutting edge - a major factor in reducing tool life. With tool wear at a minimum, despite the ability to machine at remarkably high feeds and speeds, the 1082 series is said to be able to optimise productivity in any machining environment.
