Dassault Systèmes has announced the availability of its SolidWorks Inspection application, which has been designed to automate the creation of inspection documents and accelerate the time to regulatory approval.
A recent survey of CAD users found that while many are creating first-article inspections (FAIs), inspection reports and ballooned drawings, just a small percentage are using software. Instead, users are entering data manually into ballooned engineering drawings and hand-keying inspection reports into Excel.
Thanks to the SolidWorks Inspection application, users are given multiple ways to enter values automatically. In addition to reducing the time needed to create reports, SolidWorks Inspection also helps eliminate errors and inconsistencies that come from entering data by hand.
The application can be purchased through SolidWorks' network of reseller partners at www.solidworks.com/sw/purchase/varlocator.htm
