Colchester-Harrison prepares to fire off 3-axis Tornado T2M

The 42 mm bar diameter compact 3-axis Tornado T2M, the latest addition to Colchester-Harrison's Tornado CNC turning centre range, is due to bring Tornado capability to bear on even smaller complex parts than before.

Like its heavier counterparts, (the T6M, T8M and T10M) the Tornado T2M has full C-axis, spindle disc brake and driven tooling for easier radial and axial milling, drilling, boring and tapping – and it allows many machining processes to be completed in a single cycle. The Fanuc OiTD control system has been combined with Colchester-Harrison's enhanced Manual Guide i. The inclusion of the latter, which has been customised by Colchester-Harrison's engineering team to provide a 100% conversational programming system, ensures that knowledge of ISO programming is not required and an operator with only minimal training can be cutting metal. The Tornado CNC production turning centre range will be made exclusively at the company's factory in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire.
