CGTech releases Vericut 7.3 CNC verification software

The 7.3 version of CGTech's Vericut CNC machine simulation, verification and optimisation software features a customisable user interface with new icons available in multiple sizes and several user-selectable colour themes. Every window and icon can be optionally displayed or hidden.

Also featured in CGTech's Vericut 7.3 are user-configurable Favourites. These further simplify setting up a simulation session and can consist of commonly used folders and files which can be dragged or dropped into a project. Another highlighted improvement is an Edge Display option which analyses models and finds and displays their edges, all without affecting simulation speed. The user can create a list of Stop At events during a simulation so that collisions, warnings, tool changes, or end of each set-up, can be managed interactively in the NC program dialogue. The user can add, move, remove, or temporarily disable the events that pause the simulation. A significant in-house development has also resulted in enhancements to the software's collision algorithms, removing the need to adjust complex machine models. CG Tech says that version 7.3 performance is now up to 10 times faster when the NC program moves the simulated machine into potential collision conditions. Vericut runs standalone, but the company reports that it is also increasingly used integrated with leading CADCAM and PLM systems. Therefore, version 7.3 enhancements have been implemented to improve integration with Dassault Systèmes Catia, Siemens PLM NX, Delcam PowerMill, Vero Edgecam and Open Mind hyperMill. Other features introduced since the previous version of Vericut include: drag/drop files from Windows for quick set-up; check cutting tool wear limits based on time, distance and volume; twice as fast constant gouge check simulation with very large design models; and automatically saved Reviewer file during simulation. (The Reviewer incorporates all the functionality of NC Review mode in a stand-alone viewer and does not require a licence.) Version 7.3 also includes numerous customer driven improvements since version 7.2.
