The Haas OM2A Dental micro milling machine utilises Rego-Fix tool clamping for the extremely precise and economical machining of dental technology parts made from ceramic, plastic and metal, with the special ISO 20 ERM toolholder ensuring the precise run-out required and 100% dimensional accuracy, even with small tool diameters.
For complex chipping tasks in dental and medical industry, particularly for the mass production or quick production of prototypes of small, high-precision 2D or 3D parts, the Haas OM2A Dental has an ideal concept: from a standard three-axle structure, the system can be expanded to up to five axes with a rotary table or rotary/swiveling table allowing 5-axis simultaneous processing.
ARO-tec GmbH, a distribution and service partner of the machine tool manufacturer Haas, has developed customised "dental packages" on the basis of this machining system.
The system is said to be 100% precision balanced at 40,000 rpm, with a high rigidity and very good run-out of under 3 µm.
This can be demonstrated in the dental industry with the filigree milling of chrome cobalt: a 1 mm ball cutter is used at 30,000 rpm and with feed rates of up to 2,000 mm/min. Despite the hard load, the mini-milling tool shows a high level of run-out precision, in view of the extremely close tolerances, specified to provide the necessary surface quality.
