TaeguTec has extended its T-Shrink range of thermal tool chucks to include a HSK A50 holder. The toolholder has a narrow design to enable the tool to machine difficult to reach surfaces, and a run-out accuracy of 0.003 mm that enables the holder to conduct extremely accurate machining.
This run-out accuracy also improves machining performance, tool life and surface finishes when conducting high speed machining. The T-Shrink HSK A50 offers rigid and robust machining while machining at speeds beyond 25,000 rpm.
The HSK A50 can accommodate tool shank diameters of 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 mm, with an external diameter of 21, 24 and 27 mm. The narrow external diameter permits the end user to machine deep cavities and complex forms without the toolholder colliding with the workpiece.
The T-Shrink system has a length from the shoulder to the cutter that ranges from 80 to 95 mm further enhancing the capability of the toolholder to reach the base of cavities.
The chuck is an addition to the established HSK 63 series which has proved particularly suited for precision high speed machining in sectors such as the automotive, medical, mould & die, aerospace and general subcontract industries.
As with all holders in the T-Shrink series, the HSK A50 requires an inductive heating device to successfully clamp the cutting tools. TaeguTec also manufactures and supplies an inductive heating device that accompanies the T-Shrink system.
