Bowers Nemesis 9500 meets demand for large capacity hardness testing

Bowers Metrology UK has launched the Nemesis 9500 series of floor type, universal hardness testers. Designed for use in demanding industrial environments, this three model heavy-duty range is able to cover a variety of test loads, of up to 250, 750, or 3,000 kgf respectively. With a maximum weight capacity of 500 kg and an overall height of 2 m, the testers have height/throat-depth capacities of 650/400 mm to accommodate the bulkiest of test samples.

Based on Bowers' Nemesis 9000 hardness tester, the 9500 series is equipped with a superior load cell, closed loop systems for accuracy and a wide range of fast testing procedures. Bowers' large capacity range is able to undertake Rockwell, Vickers and Brinell hardness tests, in addition to pure depth test methods such as H, HVT and HBT. The frames of the Bowers Nemesis 9500 series machines are equipped with heavy duty motorised (100 mm diameter) spindles and descending test heads, allowing test pieces to be positioned, and tests taken at the required working height. Nemesis 9500 test heads are equipped with six-position modular turrets (indenters and objectives) in addition to high quality optical zoom video systems with 5 mp HD cameras. The Bowers Nemesis 9500 range features high performance, PC-driven automatic and manual indent measurement facilities with automatic filing and storage functions, in addition to refined algorithms for measurement on materials normally considered less suitable for automatic measurement.
