Baty International's VuMaster Plus 2D measuring system can be operated manually or using recorded and stored inspection routines. When the latter are recalled, the teach and repeat part-programming feature guides the operator through the inspection procedure, recreating the lighting conditions and using video edge detection to automatically capture feature data. If required, configurable reports can be generated with tabulated results and a fully dimensioned drawing of the measured part.
The VuMaster Plus 2D does not have a conventional stage or encoders. Instead it employs a patented Colourmap high precision scale system and a high resolution measuring camera, able to move anywhere within the measuring limits of the machine. This, explains Baty International, has the major advantage of providing fast, accurate, non-contact measurement over a 400 by 300 mm measuring range. Also, as the camera moves, and the part remains still, expensive and time-consuming workholding devices are not needed.
The system also features programmable, segmented LED surface lighting, collimating profile illumination and fully motorised autofocus.
