Amada’s ENSIS fibre laser is process-efficient

Amada says that its ENSIS 3015 AJ fibre laser CNC profiling centre requires just 2 kW of laser output from the integrated oscillator to manufacture mild steel products that in the past could only be manufactured using a 4 kW laser. Needless to say, the resulting savings in energy and running costs are little short of dramatic, it is claimed.

The secret behind the innovation lies in the ability to modulate the laser beam (flexibly) as a function of sheet thickness, thus delivering profiling operations with reduced power requirements. According to Amada, this is in marked contrast to conventional fibre laser cutting systems that require changing the focus lens to cut a range of material thicknesses. The ENSIS 3015 AJ is designed for the high speed processing of both thin and thick sheet materials up to 25 mm.
