Ajax introduces European built low cost Euroturn flat bed lathes

The Ajax Euroturn range specification, aimed at training schools and general small batch production, features conversational CNC control with electronic handwheel, the ability for program upload and download through RS 232 port – with a USB network interface available for small batch work. The AJEU 200, 250 and 325 range designations correspond to centre height with the models having swings over bed of 402, 502 and 650 mm respectively. Between centre distances are 750 and 1,000 mm on the smallest 200 machine and up to 3,000 mm on the largest AJEU 325. According to the model, the heavy duty cast bases have a hardened bed width of 250, 300 or 350 mm and each headstock is designed to maximise the torque from their 4, 5.5 or 7.5 kW motor through a three speed gearbox. Speed ranges are up to 2,800, 2,300 or 1,700 rpm on the AJEU 200, AJEU 250 and AJEU 325 respectively. Each machine is ready-to-run with a quick-change tool post or, optionally, an eight-station turret can be specified. The tailstocks have a 58, 68 and 95 mm barrels with travels of 180, 200 and 220 mm. Ergonomic design credentials are illustrated by flood lighting being positioned to the front of working area to eliminate any shadow effect within the fully enclosed interlocked double-door guarding. Also the control is mounted on a sliding pendant. The machines have options of 3- and 4-jaw chucks, fixed and travelling steadies and range of face plates.
