AICON patents measuring adapter cubes
AICON has patented its high precision measuring adapters used for the measurement of geometric features such as holes, edges, corners or surface points. Applications include inspection, deformation measurement, referencing of 3D scanners, and component alignment.
The adapters are used in 3D co-ordinate measurement routines that employ a hand-held digital camera, such as the AICON measurement system DPA, to indicate the required measuring points. They can also be used in combination with other manufacturers' photogrammetry systems.
The measurement process involves taking several photographs of the object from different directions. These are automatically analysed providing the user with processable 3D data, accurate to the micrometre.
