A versatile 2-in-1 laser marking/engraving workstation from Foba

Foba's G3 laser engraving workstation for material processing is said to be not only ideal for highly precise deep engravings but for laser marking on small and premium parts. The 2-in-1 laser marking and engraving machine can apply the finest 2D/3D engravings on 3D surfaces and marks medical instruments, equipment and implants as well as luxury goods such premium watches and jewellery.

The workstation features powerful solid state lasers, IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning), an automatic vision system, and a manual Point & Shoot vision system for short processing times and high precision. The patented IMP camera system automatically detects workpieces and their position, and adjusts the marking/ engraving accordingly. With Point & Shoot, marks are positioned manually directly on a screen image of the product. Both imaging systems allow for upfront verification of mark appearance and location. In addition, IMP and Point & Shoot assist in reducing fixtures and eliminate time consuming trial and error processes. Scrap and mismarked parts are reduced with consistent high quality accurate marking/engraving. With its 1.4 m2 footprint, the G3 can be taken through standard doors. The stable machine frame and alignable and repeatable axes ensure repeatable machine operation, accurate markings and exact documentation over a significant period of time. The ergonomic workstation accommodates the user's needs standing or seated. The input table is vertically adjustable and the monitor can also be swivelled. All axes can be easily set with the standard handwheel so that the workstation can be set up for either manual or fully automatic operation. Foba EMC and Foba MarkUS, intuitive user interfaces for engraving and marking, create user-friendly and flexible programming environments with program traceability.
