A lighter, faster and more accurate scanning arm

The Laser ScanArm V3 boasts 30 per cent greater accuracy and offers better performance in scanning dark or reflective surfaces than Faro’s V2 models. The Laser ScanArm V3 – which is compatible with Faro’s Platinum FaroArm and new flagship portable CMM, the Quantum FaroArm – offers several competitive advantages not found on any other device. It is 30 per cent more accurate, ie 35 micron accuracy compared to 50 micron on the V2; it offers Bluetooth cable-free operation so with the Quantum series, users can scan up to 10 m without cables or interface boxes; it has 50 per cent faster warm-up compared to the V2; and is a third lighter than the V2 Faro president and CEO Jay Freeland comments: “The greatest challenge for scanning systems is the ability to accurately model shiny or dark objects.
