Zoller UK sets up in Foston, Derbyshire; joins OGP and SYS Systems

Zoller UK Ltd is a new company representing Zoller GmbH & Co for the full range of the German specialist's tool pre-setting, measurement, software and tool management products in the UK and Ireland, under managing director Andrew Fulton.
To be located at Foston, Derbyshire, it joins two other agencies under Mr Fulton's management at the location - non-contact and integrated 3D measuring systems OGP Ltd and SYS Systems Ltd (formerly OPS UK), representing Stratasys and Objet 3D printing and rapid prototyping systems.
There is a planned investment in place to double the size of the 5,000 ft2 Faraday House headquarters at Foston, with this project replacing an original 1,000 ft2 extension, and which will be completed by the end of the year.
The extension will create three first floor individual office areas, each with its own demonstration and training suites for the product that will overlook a common showroom incorporating flexible internal partitions to enable tailored open houses and seminars to be staged on the premises.
Says Mr Fulton: "The Zoller product range is highly complementary to OGP through much of the technology being used in measurement. Most important is that both Zoller and OGP product ranges, and in certain cases SYS 3D rapid prototyping and printing, have common customer bases across the likes of aerospace, automotive, medical, moulding, off-road and a multitude of specialist engineering sectors."
The Zoller presetting and measuring range of machines includes variants to cover a wide range of applications for inspection, grinding and re-sharpening tools; the measuring and presetting of turning and milling tooling, as well as combination heat-shrink assembly and measurement. In addition, highly specialised areas are supported. These include presetting crankshaft whirling cutters, turn/broaching tooling and complete automatic inspection of gear hobs, gear shaping and form milling cutters, as well as one for measuring and presetting EDM electrodes.
The modular suite that comprises Zoller's TMS tool management is fully supported by Zoller UK and bridges the gap between CAM, warehouse/tool store management, presetting and measurement of tools, right through to data transfer to the machine tools.
