XYZ Machine Tools' mid-February Open House resulted in orders totalling more than £250,000, including four orders for the new XYZ Compact Turn 52 turning centre.
Compact Turn 52 turning centre is the smallest model in the XYZ range of turning centres, occupying just 1,700 mm (W) by 1,450 mm (D) of floor space, and is capable of turning diameters up to 220 mm to a maximum turned length of 280 mm.
According to Nigel Atherton, managing director, the two-day event at the company’s Waltham Abbey, London, showroom attended by 30 companies has produced several further enquiries likely to result in firm orders. “It confirms that investment is still being given a high priority and this is very reassuring ahead of MACH 2008,” he says. “We will have 17 machines on our MACH stand, including the £26,000 Compact Turn 52, and the emphasis, as always, will be on productive and affordable technology.”
