XYZ Machine Tools supplier took orders for nine machines during the course of the three-day event held at its Burlescombe headquarters.
Attendance was slightly down on last year’s event, says the company, but visitors attended from as far afield as Edinburgh, with the 20 machine tools under power in the showroom area highlighting XYZ’s extensive range of turret/bed mills, lathes, turning centres and vertical machining centres.
“It’s a difficult time for UK manufacturing and companies are understandably cautious when it comes to investing in new capital equipment,” says Nigel Atherton, XYZ’s managing director. “However, we had no ‘tyre kickers’ among the 42 companies represented at this latest open house, which proved a good opportunity to demonstrate the potential for productivity improvements. I am confident of more orders in the weeks ahead as visitors respond to our competitive pricing policy and the attractive options for financing the purchase of manual, manual/CNC and full-CNC machine tools.”
Three more open house events are scheduled for later this year at other XYZ showrooms (9-10 September, Blackburn; 23-24 September, Nuneaton; 7-8 October, Waltham Abbey).
