Wilson Tool International is to support the Young Engineer of the Year scheme run annually by KMF Precision Sheet Metal Manufacturing.

This initiative aims to foster closer relationships between schools and industry and, each year, presents a practical engineering design and manufacturing challenge. The theme for 2013/13, with 18 schools in Staffordshire participating, is the Greenpower Formula 24 kit cars. Wilson Tool International is sponsoring engineers of the future at Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy. The 12 successful young engineers for this year's project will be chosen by interview from the more than 70 applicants who attended the joint presentation by Wilson Tool International and KMF on 12 September at the Academy. As companies who see their past and future success underpinned by a strong commitment to their apprenticeship schemes, Wilson Tool International and KMF will offer financial, practical, intellectual and resource support throughout this project. The students from Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, as well as the exciting challenge of building and racing their kit car, will gain an insight into limitless opportunities and challenges presented by a career in engineering.
