Ward CNC is already looking ahead positively to next year's MACH 2010 exhibition*, having booked a massive and, at 500 m2, its largest ever MACH stand.
Managing director Simon Whitworth was in buoyant mood as he made the announcement: "Yes, unemployment has breached two million and, yes, the automotive sector and its supply chain, for example, are struggling. But there is still plenty of good news throughout manufacturing – our order book is proof of that!
"It is clear that Great Britain Ltd is populated by an army of skilled machinists, who, mostly, have adopted modern machining technologies and established a niche in complex, small batch machining that is world class in terms of consistent quality and cost-effectiveness, for customers in, for instance, the aerospace, medical, motor sport and oil and gas sectors."
And he firmly believes that, despite the [worst] efforts of the bankers, companies that are good at what they do will survive, and will continue to prosper. "Companies that continually invest in the best equipment they can afford to enable them to produce high-quality parts at the right price are the ones with long-term aspirations – they always have been," he concluded.
*MACH 2010 is to be held at the NEC, Birmingham, from 7-11 June.
