Vollmer UK sold a GPA 200 machine, suited to stelliting band, gang and circular saw blades, at MACH.
A specialist manufacturer of grinding and erosion machines for tool production, it also presented a selection of PCD tooling that highlighted the capabilities of the Vollmer range of erosion machine tools in processing drills and cutting tools.
As Vollmer UK managing director Peter Allen said: "From a PCD tooling perspective, the industry is rapidly growing with aerospace, F1 and the medical industries increasingly processing difficult to machine materials that demand PCD tooling. We highlighted our expertise at the show and this was well received. Our ability to process tooling for these sectors was highlighted in our seminar at MACH."
Also at MACH having its UK debut was the Loroch Solution K850 machine, for the re-sharpening, re-toothing and chamfering of circular saw blades, which demonstrated a high level of automation able to re-sharpen 45 blades with a 315 mm diameter and 160 teeth, in one shift with minimal operator intervention.
For the sharpening and re-grinding of TCT circular saw blades, Vollmer demonstrated its CX100 automatic grinding machine. The CX100 has been designed for economical processing of top, face and hollow faces on carbide tipped circular saw blades up to 500 mm diameter.
Alongside this was the Vollmer CHD270 5-axis precision grinding machine for the grinding of TCT blades. The unit can also be integrated with a robotic loading system to deliver flexible around the clock machining.
Finally, for the re-sharpening of bandsaw blades, the Loroch CNBS 80 can accommodate saw blades from 8 to 80 mm wide, 0.5 to 3 mm thick and 2.8 to 7 m long, with a pitch from 3 to 34 mm.
