Stevens Rowsell Engineering has won the nomination to represent Sussex in the MASSE Manufacturing Best Practice Awards, later this year.

The Sussex best practice exemplar has been awarded for showing consistent continuous improvement, through, lean manufacturing initiatives and development of business processes. The Manufacturing Advisory Service in the South East (MASSE) provides support to Manufacturers in the South East to help improve their business processes through training, coaching and best practice networking events, where businesses share ideas and successes, for the good of all. A large part of the network success has been the contribution of, 40 plus, manufacturing companies, in Sussex, each participating because of their desire to continually improve in all elements of their business activities. It is from this pool of companies that Stevens Rowsell was voted the best practices exemplar, for 2010. "Over the last 3 years the business has invested a lot of time and effort into better equipping its staff with both the practical tools and the knowledge theory to achieve higher levels of performance and competences from which to drive growth & success. To have been nominated and thought of in high regard by the members of such a credible business solutions network is indeed a great honour for us and I am delighted our achievements have been recognised and merited by so many leading Sussex manufacturing companies," said Stuart Small (pictured), managing director of Stevens Rowsell. They will be assessed alongside other regional winners (Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, Oxford and Bucks) for the overall title of South East Best Practice Exemplar.
