Starrett Precision Optical appoints Optimax for full sales and service support

Optimax has been the sole UK agent for new Starrett optical products for the last 18 months, but the recent addition of the spares, service and calibration function provides a one-stop shop for Starrett customers and retains high standards in all areas of technical advice and support. Based in the Midlands, Optimax is well placed to reach all customers nationwide. With a purpose-built 1500 sq ft showroom and training facility, customers can view the latest optical projectors and CNC video measuring systems. This now mirrors all other global markets for Starrett, which wishes to concentrate direct staff efforts on manufacturing and product development, while using specialist appointed agents to deliver local, end user sales and support. "Optimax is well known as specialists in the non-contact measurement field and they have done a really good job for Starrett, selling our range of optical projectors and video measuring systems," said Brian McLay, operations manager for Starrett Precision Optical. "Given their central location and the very positive relationship that we already have, it made perfect sense to also ask them to take on the supply of spare parts, and service and calibration work." This change in relationship comes at the same time as Starrett launches a redesigned range of optical projectors. The new machines feature redesigned hoods, a choice of either the Quadra Chek or new M2 touch-screen readouts and a new colour scheme.
