An open invitation has been extended to companies to view Starrag UK’s seven-axis Bumotec s191 linear CNC multi-function turn-mill centre.

Visitors to the day-long event at Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Park will see first-hand its capabilities for grinding, gearcutting and broaching, as well as turning and milling in a single set-up as part of a live, complex component machining demonstration.

The event will appeal to everyone in the micro-mechanic, aerospace, medical technology or luxury goods sectors, and those involved in achieving cost-effective, highly accurate (to +/- 2.5 microns) machining solutions within an X, Y and Z axes range of 410 mm, 200 mm and 400 mm.

The Bumotec s191 will be put through its paces on Thursday 6 July 2017.

Says Dr David Curtis, technical fellow at the AMRC with Boeing Centre: “The Bumotec s191 gives us opportunities to develop revolutionary new machining processes in any material and for any sector. We are now looking for projects where we can take small, complex components and develop optimised, cost-saving solutions that add value to UK industry.”

Those interested in attending the event should contact Starrag UK at: info-uk@starrag.com or 0121 359 3637.
