Star appoints Northern area sales manager

The company sells its Japanese parent company's sliding-head mill-turn centres in the UK and Ireland, as well as short and full-length bar magazines from FMB, Germany. Mr Kendall, a time-served mechanical engineer, has acquired a wealth of experience in machines tools, having worked for some of the best-known names in the business over the past 30 years. He also has a good working knowledge of cutting tools, as he has been responsible for sales of leading brands in the UK during his career. There is a significant installed base of Star machines in the North, so in addition to developing new contacts, Mr Kendall will be visiting existing users to underline his additional roles outside of sales. These include first-line contact for applications engineering and service; and arranging demonstrations at the company's technical centre in Melbourne, Derbyshire.
