Mills CNC has reported its best ever first quarter sales results.

The company - exclusive distributor of Doosan CNC machine tools in the UK and Ireland – describes the results for the first quarter of 2009 as "spectacular". The Leamington-Spa based CNC machine tool specialist reports that machine tool sales, worth in excess of £7.8 million for the first quarter, had exceeded expectations and were 12 per cent up on the same period last year. "At a time when significant sections of the machine tool sector are reporting 'difficult' trading conditions, and individual machine tool manufacturers are scaling back their operations and, future plans as a consequence – our sales results underline the wide and growing appeal of Doosan technology to precision manufacturers determined to both maintain and grow their competitive advantage," said managing director Nick Frampton: "The availability of Doosan's cost-competitive and world-class machine tools and Mills' 'best-in-class' support services are proving to be an unbeatable combination." Over the last 5 years, the company has consistently out-performed the market, and has dramatically increased its market share in the same period as a consequence. "The breadth and depth of the Doosan product portfolio is second to none, and the sophistication and customer-focus of our support services has enabled us to clearly differentiate ourselves in the market," Mr Frampton underlined. "The sales growth we have experienced - and are continuing to experience - provides ample evidence that customers like and value the Doosan-Mills approach."
