RK provides equipment for WorldSKills competition

RK International Machine Tools has been appointed as an official supplier to London WorldSkills 2011, the world's largest international skills competition.

The competition, held at London's Excel Centre from 5-8th March, will see 1,000 competitors from more than 50 countries competing to demonstrate their expertise in 46 skills areas. RK International will be supplying 28 machines for use by competitors in the Mould Making Skills, Manufacturing Team Challenge and Polymechanics/Automation Skill categories. "UK manufacturing companies have seen first-hand the declining numbers in apprentices and skilled personnel over the last generation," says RK International sales director Dick Aldrich. "So when we heard that WorldSkills was coming to London, we wanted to be part of it." WorldSkills 2011 executive director Aidan Jones says: "WorldSkills London 2011 will be a huge boost to the UK economy, leaving a legacy of young people inspired by skills."
